Position Details – Commercial Escrow Assistant

The Commercial Escrow Assistant is a key position that provides administrative and clerical support to the Commercial Escrow Team by assisting Escrow Officers. The Commercial Escrow Assistant will be expected to prepare commercial real estate transactions for closing, post-closing, and policy issuance. Specific job responsibilities include:

• Reviewing real estate contracts 

• Gathering real estate tax information 

• Data input 

• File management: transaction notes, scanning, maintaining file-level documents

• Read and review title insurance commitment in preparation for closing and policy issuance. 

• Preparation of closing statements, closing documents 

• Recording of documents with the appropriate county/state department. 

• Balance file-level receipts and disbursements 

• Communicate with customers, internal and external, in a courteous and constructive manner

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel on occasion as needed.
  • The ability to obtain a State of Kansas Title Insurance License is required within your first 6 months of employment – the company will provide assistance if needed.
  • 1-3 years of previous experience in title insurance, lending, or real estate is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Dependability, strong work ethic and punctuality are a must.
  • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast paced environment.
